There were many ways I tried playing the game until I found a way that worked best for me. That process of learning an failing was very fun. I would think I knew what I was doing, an the game would meatwad me into a nicely pwned dead body on the ground. Then I would have to start the level over. There is no greater feeling of loss than having to start over. So it can be very rewarding to play. The fact is that you can't really win anything if you have no chance of losing. I'm not saying that you have to lose to win, but one without the other makes both equally meaningless. It was also fun trying different ways to play the game. Though overall I play it as a stay alive search an loot to get to the story parts.
I would guess it took me 14 hours to get to near the halfway point in the story. However that is only because I searched for loot. Then also I wasn't afraid to try using different roads which added some excitement in a random way to the travel part of the game. It should be noted that I wanted to start over an try playing the game again before I even finished it. Around 8 hours I figured out how to play it, and wanted to try starting over to see what happened now that I know how to play the game. I wasn't able to start over even though I wanted too. The first play of the game was too good to stop playing. I tried to blame the loot I had found, but really I didn't want to give up, an that is a lot to be said for a game.
I finished the game in 20 hours over a two day period, but I spent 7 hours messing around doing stupid stuff. So really I finished the game in 13 hours. I had to grab gas an run out of a dangerous area. I also missed many areas of the game. It seems they want us to play this game more than once. It's a very difficult game to play so I was too tired to play the game again after I just finished it. Actually I want to play it again now, but I already know it's too much work to attempt it right now. This download is no longer available.
